One part that does stand out to me is the "Star Rule." I think we have always known in our minds that the stars get the best calls. Jordan got them, Kobe gets them. The book definitely does make you question some aspects of the game though and if it forces the refs to watch games extra closely, I would say the fans win whether the book ends up being published or not.

although there is some very fresh and juicy tidbit...

although there is some very fresh and juicy tidbits in the excerpts of this "banned" book, I think the reader should keep a level head about this situation. Tim Donaghy has already shown himself to be corrupt and untrustworthy, so why buy it now? All that I'm asking is that the reader critical think about this situation, motives and what there is to lose in all of this. After discovery the cuts from the book, I had to ask myself, why wouldn't they want to publish it? Well maybe some of it's fabricated, maybe based on rumor or simply not supported my the evidence. I too have looked at games over the years and thought, is there something ELSE besides a basketball game going on? It is certainly big business both monetarily and culturally, just be careful of that slippery slope.
