Discovery LIFE

It wasn't too long ago that the Discovery Channel blew our minds with the images and sexy narration by Sigourney Weaver of its popular Planet Earth. Well the same team is back and they are ready to impress us again with LIFE. Ten hour-long episodes with plenty of first both in world of technology and images caught on camera for the first time. Unfortunately though, we won't be able to enjoy the soothing voice of Sigourney Weaver, as it is replaced by the Queen of Daytime TV, Ms. Oprah Winfrey. The show is due to premiere this week on the Discovery Channel (once again the Brits beat us as they already saw it last year) but more information on the breakthrough series and its one of a kind technology can be found here.

World's Largest House of Cards

It's been a while since we hit you with the World's Largest something, that is because we have been waiting for Bryan Berg to finish his World's Largest House of Free-Standing Playing Cards. The structure took 44 days to complete and 4,051 decks of cards to complete. While Bryan is an American Architect it is the great state of China who gets to claim this enormous (literally - it is 10 feet tall and 33 feet long) accomplishment. And what building do you think Bryan Berg selected for this feat? Well he chose a replica on the Venetian Macau, the very building in which the structure can be seen. No word on who gets to be the one that pulls the card to knock down this house of cards, but we will check with our Chinese correspondent on the ground to see if we can get the scoop.

Google Bicycle Directions

It seems like only yesterday that our friends at Google added the walking directions to its popular Google Maps. Then Google got a fighter jet and adopted the unsend feature on gmail, before coming up with something that we can really use - Google Maps Biking Directions. With one of Freshtoid's offices being in Sacramento and encouraging employees to go green by riding their bikes to work, this new Google feature will really improve the commute from many. And having ridden a bicycle from San Luis Obispo to San Francisco and gotten lost along the way, this new mapping feature would have been great a few years back. The bike directions will only be available in the United States at first, but Google will be adding more cities and countries in the coming months.

Sperry Top Sider 75th Anniversary Collection

We aren't solely into Nikes. In fact, sometimes we have to get our grown man/sailor/yacht cruising on. When this happens, we rely on one shoe, the Sperry Top Sider. This specific collection pays tribute to the Top Sider's Authentic Original that was created 75 years ago. Fun fact, the shoe was originally designed by Paul Sperry, after watching his dog, Prince, run across the ice and snow while maintaining traction. The shoes come in a brown/black leather offering and an off-white suede offering.

Both pairs of Sperry Top Sider 75th Anniversary Collection can be picked up here.

The Death Of Notorious B.I.G.

13 years ago today, we all lost one of the greatest rappers of all time, The Notorious B.I.G. Born Christopher Wallace, Biggie was killed in an awful drive-by shooting in Los Angeles,CA. To this day, the killer has not been identified.

GQ has put together a nice collection of videos titled "A Friendly Reminder: Biggie Smalls Was The Illest."

As Puff Daddy would say, "We miss you Big." Shout out to one of our dedicated readers, Kyle, for the link.

OK Go "This Too Shall Pass"

A few years back OK Go hit us with "Here It Goes Again"....well, here it goes again...literally. OK Go is back with a new fresh video titled "This Too Shall Pass." I think we all remember doing those Rube Goldberg contraptions in high school physics, well this video takes that concept and bumps it up a few notches. I don't know why, but the guitar, spoons and glasses at the 1:23 mark really steal the show.

Wheaties Fuel

There are so many cliches out there about eating your Wheaties that we will do you all a favor and just get down to the nitty-gritty. Obviously, the most important aspect of any Wheaties box is whose face is on it, Fuel features five stars highlighted by football champion and three-time MVP Peyton Manning, but also including champion triathlete Hunter Kemper, basketball champion and 12-time all-star Kevin Garnett, gold medal-winning decathlete Bryan Clay, first baseman Albert Pujols, an 8-time all-star and 2-time MVP.

Fuel combines everything you love about Wheaties with a little extra energy punch and a hint of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's got 100 percent of your recommended daily value of five B vitamins, 16 g of whole grains to provide sustained energy and 5 g of fiber to...well, you know what fiber helps with. Pixar is well known for its fully-stocked cereal bar, and we'll be expecting to see this one on there sometime soon. But for those not invited to regular meetings at Pixar's office the new cereal is available nationally for roughly $4.50 a box. More details on the cereal here.
