ESPN in 3D

We hit you last year with the news that espn would be airing the USC vs. Ohio State game in 3D, well apparently the execs at espn have bookmarked Freshtoid because they got the message and we will be seeing a lot more 3D in 2010. Our sources say the new espn 3D network will feature at least 85 sporting events in 2010 including the BCS National Championship, the Summer X Games, and numerous football and basketball games. But the network will be kicked off with the largest sporting event in the world: the 2010 World Cup. Look for more insight from our 3D correspondent on the merits of watching 3D on a television.

Tallest Building in the World

So if you have been following us for a while, (looking at you Marcelo) you would know that we have been keeping tabs on the world's tallest building. We are pleased to announce that Dubai has finally succeeded in taking the title. The Khalifa Tower measures an astounding 2717 feet high, as a reference there are 5,280 feet in mile. Yes it is that high. You can see video of the opening ceremonies above and stay tuned for information as we are confident the record will be broken again (sort of like that 'thinnest' TV screen in the world stunt we got taken for a few months back).

HAPPY 2010

Well that was one hell of a decade. It had its highs (two straight championships for USC football, the improvement of cell phones, waterproof hats, the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo and Will Ferrell being on Man vs. Wild). But it also had its lows (The death of the King of Pop RIP, 9-11 Never Forget, the loss of third straight national championship for USC and demotion from Pluto as a planet to a dwarf planet). Yet the one thing that has remained constant is Brett Favre being in the NFL. Freshtoid went from an idea of two individuals who had not even met, to an international enterprise with correspondents as far away as Hong Kong and ever expanding staff of experts and contributors. So raise your glass to another stellar decade full of fresh hits, hats and happenings from your favorite lifestyle blog.

Star Wars New Era Caps

We post A LOT of hats here on Freshtoid and at first I was a little apprehensive about sharing this one, but I think you would agree that you have never seen anything quite like it. Everyone has that friend who is Star Wars fanatic (for Freshtoid it is our animation correspondent...go figure...) and normally that person is sort of a nerd and not exactly the most fashionable (not Freshtoid's friend of course, everyone else). Well now thanks to New Era they can be looking Fresh and still represent their favorite movie series. But just like Luke Skywalker's hand, these hats won't be around forever, so click here and get your before Darth Maul gets his hands on them. May the force be with you.

Ken Block STI Trax

If you have not seen DC Shoes co-founder tearing it up in his Subaru WRX STI yet, first watch this video here. This WRX STI is undoubtedly one of a kind and Ken Block drives the only way he knows how: fast and hard with some tight turns. The video above is just a preview, so stay tuned for more from the TRAX STI over the next few months

Yankees Waterproof 5950 New Era Cap

We love our fitted caps here at Freshtoid. However, with the winter bringing it's finest rain and snow, we admit, we are a bit hesitant to bring out or favorite sombreros. The cap is made of water resistant material (obviously) and will keep your dome dry during these cold and wet months. The New Era 5950 New York Yankees waterproof cap is available at your finer New Era retailers.
